About Dr. Weber:

Deborah E. Weber, MD, FACEP is a longtime member and prior board member of Illinois College of Emergency Medicine (ICEP). She served as chair of the Education Committee in the past and has been an active member of this committee for many years. In this capacity she developed educational materials and courses for board preparation in emergency medicine, as well as continuing medical educational (CME) resources, including the annual EM4LIFE review text and course (2004 – 2025).

Dr. Weber developed and directed ICEP’s Oral Board Review Courses from 1991 until their sundowning in November of 2025. Most recently she worked to develop, launch, and direct the ICEP Certifying Exam Review Course with a subcommittee of dedicated members of the Education Committee.

Dr. Weber pursued a career in education prior to entering the medical field and has been actively involved in the education and training of emergency physicians. She is co-author (with Carol Rivers, MD) of Preparing for the Oral Board Exam in Emergency Medicine (Editions IV, V, VI and VII) and Managing Editor of Preparing for the Written Board Exam in Emergency Medicine (Editions I, II, and III).

During the past 30+ years, Dr. Weber has devoted an ever-increasing portion of her time to preparing emergency physicians for board exams (ABEM/Osteopathic and Canadian) through her writings, courses, and individual board tutorials.

As an emergency physician and educator, Dr. Weber provides a unique insight into the medical education needs of the specialty and the specific needs of candidates preparing for their board exams.
