About Dr. Kegg:

Dr. Jason A. Kegg is a board-certified Emergency Physician and EMS physician with nearly 30 years of service in emergency medicine and prehospital care across Illinois. Based in Springfield, he serves as Professor of Emergency Medicine at Southern Illinois University, where he trains residents and medical students, and since 2017 has served as the State of Illinois EMS Medical Director.

A former President of ICEP, Dr. Kegg has dedicated his career to advancing emergency care, disaster preparedness, tactical medicine, and EMS education throughout downstate Illinois and beyond. He remains actively involved with regional law enforcement tactical teams, homeland security initiatives, and numerous state and national EMS organizations, while continuing to serve patients on the front lines of emergency medicine.
