Illinois EMSC Offers Free Educational Module on Pediatric Pain Management
Illinois EMSC is offering a free Pediatric Pain Management in the Emergency Setting self-study educational module. The purpose of the Pediatric Pain Management in the Emergency Setting education is to enhance the emergency care of pediatric patients who present in pain or with painful conditions. This education will discuss a number of topics including: current pediatric pain management, evidence-based pediatric pain interventions, pain myths, pain physiology, development of pediatric pain policies and protocols, and quality improvement. It is our hope that healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, mid-level and prehospital providers) will utilize these materials to further enhance the care of children in their own settings.
