Nominations for ISMS Councils and Committees – Deadline: June 11, 2021
The Illinois State Medical Society is in the process of considering council and committee nominations for 2021-2022, and would like to invite your recommendations.
Over the past years, the Society has worked hand-in-hand with several Illinois specialty organizations to achieve mutual goals in the state’s public policy arena and with payors, as well as to improve membership involvement and cooperative relationships. The participation of your members on our councils and committees is one important element in this process.
The deadline for submission of your nominees is June 11, 2021.
All those nominated for appointment to ISMS councils and committees must be current members of the Illinois State Medical Society. In order to be considered by the ISMS Board of Trustees, all nominations must be received in the ISMS office by no later than June 11, 2021, on the enclosed form. In addition to being an ISMS member, nominees should be:
- Willing to serve if appointed. (Make sure a nominee has expressed an interest in serving.)
- Considered for their qualifications and abilities and whether they will contribute in a positive way.
Enclosed are descriptions of the councils and committees. All nominations will be given full consideration. Please understand, however, that not all may be appointed, since there may be several nominations for each vacancy. In addition, priority is given to those already serving, based on their participation and attendance. We make every effort to balance representation geographically and by specialty. Please consider the nominations process as a way to engage physicians with diverse practice backgrounds and demographics in ISMS.
ISMS councils and committees usually meet three to five times annually, as determined by the chair and members of the council or committee. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, these panels are currently convening via virtual meetings and conference calls.
