New Action Needed to Contact Senate on Medicare Cuts: Ask Your Senators to Sign the Bipartisan Boozm
We have a new request to the Senate to address the impending Medicare physician payment cuts coming in January 2025.
This new request has a fast-approaching deadline of November 20.
Contact your Senators to urge them to sign on to the bipartisan “Dear Colleague” letter led by Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Peter Welch (D-VT). The letter urges Senate leadership to stop the 2.8% Medicare cut and to prioritize long-term solutions like reforms to statutory budget neutrality requirements and payment updates reflective of inflationary pressures.
If this 2.8% cut is implemented on January 1, 2025, it will mark the fifth consecutive year of reductions to Medicare physician payments. While Congress has stepped in to mitigate the full impact of the cuts over the last several years, the cumulative impact of the cuts only serves to threaten the ability of emergency physicians and other health care providers to sustain access to lifesaving emergency care for our patients.
Urge your U.S. Senators to sign on to the bipartisan Boozman/ Welch “Dear Colleague” – the deadline to sign on is November 20. Click below to send your message.
