EMS & Trauma Strategic Plan Finalized
The Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of EMS and Highway Safety, has released its 5-Year Strategic Plan. The plan is the result of about three years of work of a mutildisciplinary group of approximately 150 individuals representing emergency medical systems (EMS) and trauma communities.
In March 2010, an updated version of the Strategic Plan Draft Recommendations document was released, which contained the timelines as recommended by the Strategic Plan Recommendation Analysis Team (SPRAT). Shortly after, the Division began the work of transforming this document into one that accurately represents the vision of the Director of IDPH as well as one that provides a format that will allow for ease in assigning tasks and tracking progress of implementation.

Implementation of many of the activities in this document has already begun, and the Division of EMS looks forward to continuing to work in conjunction with the EMS and trauma communities in Illinois to carry out our shared mission.
