Weekly Legislative Update – June 1, 2010
Early on during last week, it appeared that the House and Senate would get a budget passed and off to the Goveor by the end of the week. Depending upon your perspective, it may be a positive that the two chambers did not put together all of the components needed to complete their work for the session.
The Senate was not able to muster the votes needed to pass the legislation that would provide for borrowing authority for the State to take out a loan to make the current years’ pension payment. The House has also adjoued and passed the various components necessary for the budget and are scheduled for a retu during the veto session.
